How can I make a donation?

A. WQPT PBS is member-supported community television. Your support keeps WQPT PBS' quality programs free and independent. In addition, your contribution helps fund our Educational Outreach initiatives and services for the entire region. We invite you to join WQPT PBS or renew your membership at any amount appropriate for you. Annual member benefits begin at the $35 level. How can I update my membership information?

A. Use the WQPT PBS Member Portal to make changes to your membership, including your donation, payment and other information related to your membership. Or contact us for assistance.

 

When does my WQPT PBS membership expire?

A. Your generous support to WQPT PBS typically gives you one full calendar year of benefits from the date of your contribution.

 

 

When will I receive my Thank You Gift?

A. Gift items (typically) arrive within 2–3 weeks. However, sometimes thank-you gifts may take longer, because of inventory, shipping times or other unforeseen issues beyond our control. We are happy to check the status of your items, simply contact us.

 

I would like to select a Thank You gift, where do I do so?

Why does my donation transaction show WIU Foundation as the merchant?

A. Western Illinois University holds the broadcast license to WQPT PBS. Though WQPT PBS is an entirely "self-funded department (within) the University structure and (is) responsible for generating its (own) revenue needs." For simplified bookkeeping and legal reasons, transactions may appear as WIU Foundation. Rest assured that your donation is designated solely to WQPT PBS.

 

I paid my renewal. Why am I still receiving another mailing from WQPT PBS.

A. To save money for the quality programming you expect from WQPT PBS, we print and send out renewal notices in bulk. This means that it takes several weeks for a renewal letter to get to you. As a result, your renewal gift and our letter probably crossed in the mail.

 

I already paid my donation. Why did I receive an invoice?

A. Because your support is so vital to WQPT PBS, we start sending out renewal notices in advance of your membership's expiration. If you renew early, you will still get a full year's membership; your membership will be extended for a full 12 months from your current expiration date.

 

Why did I not receive my Program Guide?

A. If you just joined WQPT PBS, you should receive your first program guide on or around the first of each month. It may take a few weeks to receive your first issue of the guide, depending on the date we received your donation, regardless you will receive 12 issues. If you are a current member and have not received this month’s guide, please contact us online.

Is donating online safe?

A. Safe guarding your personal information is of the utmost importance to us. The information you provide is sent encrypted via a SSL.* We believe this technology to be safe and secure. How do I find out when a program will air on WQPT PBS?

A. Use and search our schedule online or download a program guide (link located under the schedule grid).

 

Why do I hear a voice-over or narration when I watch certain WQPT PBS shows?

A. The narration you may hear is the descriptive video service for the visually impaired persons. To de-activate this feature use the DVS or SAP function on your remote.

 

Can I watch any of WQPT’s programs online?

A. YES. Viewers may LIVE STREAM our channels, watch numerous programs the WQPT PBS Video Portal. Members who donate $60.00 have access to our extended PBS library with countless hours of content using WQPT PBS Passport.

 

Where do I find programs for children?

A. View our programming for kids or watch or stream now.

 

Why does WQPT PBS have on-air fundraising drives?

A. WQPT PBS depends on support from individual donors like you in order to continue bringing you the finest educational, entertaining and thought-provoking programming without commercial interruption. The special programming we offer during our fundraising drives help us raise critical funds to bring you the programs you enjoy throughout the rest of the year. Approximately 2% of our airtime is spent inviting viewers to invest WQPT PBS' programming and outreach services.

 

I have a program suggestion or feedback. How do I share that information.

Does WQPT PBS giveaway free books?

A. Yes. Since 1995, we have provided more than 500,000 free books to children whose families cannot afford them through our First Book program.

 

How do I sign up for Imagination Station?

A. Tickets for Imagination Station are FREE, however YOU MUST have tickets to enter the event. Tickets usually become available on March 1. Sign up for e-mail notifications (below) to stay informed. Learn more
