Where do I find out more information
about WQPT?

We invite you to visit our "About WQPT" page on our website.

How do I make WQPT my local station
on PBS.org?

The WQPT website has been designed to compliment your PBS experience. Simply click here to go to the PBS website and select WQPT as your PBS station. Once set (assuming your browser allows "cookies") you'll always be connected with WQPT and PBS. As an alternative, you may also click here to make WQPT your local PBS station.

How do I contact the station?
For quick access, we invite you to use our online contact form. We will automatically route your request to the correct staff member. You may also call us during normal business hours at 309/764-2400 or e-mail our staff.

How do I purchase copies of programs on WQPT?
If you would like to have a copy of a favorite program, please use our use our online contact form or call 309/764-2400 during normal business hours. National programs (like Nature, NOVA and Masterpiece) go to ShopPBS.

Why does WQPT have on-air membership campaigns?
WQPT receives a significant portion of its funding from individuals like you. Many of these gifts come from viewers during our three annual on-air membership campaigns. Just a small fraction of WQPT's airtime—approximately 2% a year—is spent inviting viewers to invest in public television.

Will my contribution gift be tax deductible?
Yes—because WQPT is a nonprofit 501(c) (3) organization. Your gift is tax deductible to the extent that it exceeds the fair market value of any benefit you receive in return. We will send you a tax receipt for any gift of $250.00 or more, or for one of $75.00 or more when you have received a thank-you gift such as a videotape, CD, or book.

How quickly will my online payment
be processed?

Our Membership staff places a high priority on responding to your pledge or other purchases in a timely manner.

Online doantions and orders are processed with 24 hours or the next business day depending on how the contribution or order is received.

Bank checks or credit card donations and orders taken over the phone or mailed are typically processed within 2 days.

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments begin approximately one month from the time we receive your written authorization. If you choose to use the EFT payment option, you will receive written notification verifying your EFT amount and the start date of the funds transfer.

Will WQPT notify me when payments
are due?

Yes. For certain memberships you may ask us to bill you, if you intend to pay by check. For credit card and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) payments, WQPT will automatically process your payment when it becomes due and you will see confirmation of the transaction on your credit card or bank statement.

When paying by EFT, which bank account
should I use?

When you decide to contribute your ongoing to support to WQPT, you select from either a savings or checking account, whichever you prefer, for the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). You will see confirmation of the transaction on your bank statement. You may also use a credit card when establishing EFT contributions. Many members prefer this route to accure miles, points or other credit card benefits, as determined by your credit card company.

Renewing or changing your Sustaining Partner Membership
The Sustaining Partnership form of membership allows you to set-up automatic monthly or quarterly payments which are automatically processed. Once you become a Sustaining Partner your support is ongoing and your membership payments renew automatically. However, you may contact WQPT at any time to increase, decrease, or discontinue future payments.

When will I receive my Thank You gift?
Typically gift items arrive within two weeks. In some instances items may take up to six weeks to arrive. If you are concerned about the status of your gift(s), please contact us.

Your subscription to our monthly program guide will begin within 30 days of your donation. If you do not receive the WQPT program guide within 30 days, please contact us.

Is becoming a member online secure
and safe?

Yes. While no online method can ensure or guarantee the safety and protection of your personal information, we have partnered with PayPal to provide our patrons the highest level of online security available. PayPal uses a system which complies with current PCI Standards, a national organization that address online security standards. If, at any time, you are uncomfortable with making an online donation, purchase or registration, call 309/764-2400 during normal business hours—or use our online contact form and one of our staff members will contact you.

Does WQPT sell or rent their member lists?
Absolutely not. When you become a WQPT member, your information is not provided to any organization. Whether you make your contribution via our secure online registration, or by telephone, your personal information is never released to anyone.

How can I volunteer at WQPT?
Thanks for asking! Volunteering is a great way to get involved and support the efforts of the station. Visit the volunteering section of our website or simply use our online contact form.
